Baragoni

Shoulder puffs often found on a veste, farsetto, or jerkin.


Farsetto

A doublet or jacket. The primary article of clothing worn by by men of the period, though it was worn by both men and women, with ladies pairing it with a skirt.


Gorgiera

A ruff or series of pleated fabric ranging in various sizes worn around the neck to frame the face.


Sottana

A dress worn underneath a veste or overdress from the italian word “sotto” or “under.” The closest equivilent in 15th/16th century English dress would be a kirtle.


Zimarra

An loose fitting over gown often worn over a dress resembling a robe.
